A-COM's history goes back to 1974 when Wayne Beck and Bill Truelove founded a company called A-LARM'S, INC specializing in residential burglar and fire alarms.
In August 1984, A-LARMS INC. started a new division called Alarm and Communications Systems Co. This division installed business and commercial telephone systems.
In March 1985, A-LARM'S INC. changed its name to A-COM Inc. The A from Alarms and the COM from Communications was how the name was chosen.
In April 1988, each division was set up as a separate entity. A-COM Inc. became A-COM Security Co. Inc. and A-COM Telephone Co. Inc., with A-COM Enterprises being the parent company. A-COM Security Co was later renamed to A-COM Protection Services to better reflect the services we provide.
A-COM currently services over 16,000 security and telephone systems which have been installed since the company was founded in 1974.
